NHL Season Recap (2024 Bottom 16 Edition)
The regular season is over, and sixteen teams have missed out on the postseason. So, it’s time to go over each team and discuss what happened and what their future may look like. Join me as I’ll be going over each of the teams that missed the playoffs this past season.
Anaheim Ducks
I’m not going to lie; I thought the Ducks were going to be better this year. Seeing them as the third-worst team in the league genuinely shocked me. I thought there would be a noticeable improvement after getting a better coach, Gudas, Killorn, and their franchise superstar: Leo Carlsson. Now, to be fair, they dealt with a lot of injuries this past season and that was a massive reason why they were so bad. So this upcoming season is likely to be better for them. They have a lot of promising young talent, but they’re still young and inexperienced. A few savvy signings this off-season and another year of players growing up and getting more experience should leave this team in a better place next season.
Arizona Coyotes
Wow. That was brutal. I’m talking about both their second-half collapse and getting relocated, especially as this team finally shows promise. I should be hyping this team up right now as I’ve consistently been one of those who’ve been higher on this squad than most for a while now. Instead, this is more of a funeral. This was the final season of the Arizona Coyotes, at least this incarnation of them. It sucks and I wish they could’ve stuck with it and figured things out in Arizona. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Utah fans will get the excitement of a young team that has promise while Arizona fans get nothing. The future is bright in Utah.
