Harrison Browne, when playing for the Riveters, taking a shot while warming up before a game.

I doubt it’s news to anyone at this point, but the PHF got bought out by the PWHPA, and it looks as if they’re rebranding to the PWHPL. Many an article has been written about this, and I will do so again, but from a different angle. One angle I see repeatedly missed or, at best, hastily mentioned, is the queer angle of all this. I’ve briefly touched on it in previous articles, and I did write a little about it in my news roundup a few weeks back when I covered the PWHPL’s owner’s comments on the Boston Pride. Today, though, I really want to focus in on how this affects the queer community. No more spreading my thoughts apart several different articles. I’m bringing all of them here, into one article.

Also, before we start: we are in the middle of the off-season for this newsletter currently. From July 30-October 1, all articles will be exclusive to paid subscribers.
